Better Than Expected:"Tyler Perry's Boo 2! A Madea Halloween"
Synopsis: Madea, Bam, and Hattie venture to a haunted campground and the group must run for their lives when monsters, goblins, and the boogeyman are unleashed.
Review: After seeing the first Boo! A Madea Halloween, I had no high expectations on following up with, "Boo 2! A Madea Halloween." To my surprise, it was better than expected. It had somewhat of a storyline and jokes that were funny. It was 100 minutes of non-stop laughter.
So much respect is given to Tyler Perry because, like many of his movies, Perry plays the roles of Madea, Brian, and Joe in addition to serving as the writer, director, and producer.
"If you are looking for something serious, that is going to win Oscars, then this is not the movie for you," said Perry during the Black Carpet Premiere of his new film. He continued, "This movie is about having fun, having a good time, lifting people's spirits and just laughing. That is all it is about."
Simply put, this movie is meant to laugh at stupid jokes. Nothing more. It is filled with hilarious comedy from start to finish as viewers watch Madea, Bam, and Hattie run from ghouls, goblins, and monsters. Although rated PG-13, we would not advise for you to take anyone under the age of 16 due to the language and sexual jokes. Despite that, we at THAheadline believe that "Tyler Perry’s Boo 2! A Madea Halloween" will do well this weekend at the box office due to the fact, it will bring laughter to the nation's darkness.
“To all of the Academy voters in the room: you ain’t gonna like this s—,” Perry joked when introducing the film. “But to everybody who just wants to laugh at this film, there is so much darkness going on in our country and in our industry that makes you go, ‘Jesus, what is going on?’ I wanted to do a movie that is just 100 minutes of silly, non-stop laughter.”
Returning to "Tyler Perry’s Boo 2! A Madea Halloween" is Patrice Lovely as Hattie, Cassi Davis as Aunt Bam, Brock O’Hurn as Horse, Lexy Pantera as Leah, Diamond White as Tiffany, Yousef Erakat as Jonathan, and J.C. Caylen as Mikey. Unfortunately, Bella Thorne is not returning to the movie, but Inanna Sarkis will play the role of Gabriella.
“Tyler Perry’s Boo 2! A Madea Halloween” opens on Friday. Do you need a good laugh? If so, see #Boo2.
