It’s not every day when you are given a platform to connect with women who are designers, stylists, bloggers, editors and more. Thanks to Simply Stylist, anything dealing with fashion and beauty was found all in one. Their founder, Sarah Boyd created Simply Inc. as an agency specializing in events and brand collaborations.

The Simply Stylist ‘Do What You Love’ Los Angeles Fashion and Beauty Conference took place at the Grove over the weekend, and the day was filled with significant opportunities. The conference brought opportunities to meet new people, try new things and to learn valuable information from experts and leaders who have been around the style block.

Simply Stylist attendee, Pear shared her experience calling it, “a really cool networking event.”

“I came to Simply Stylist because; I found it to be a really cool networking event, especially in the fashion and beauty community. Attending these events is very important because it is a way for me to meet new people and feel continuously inspired and motivated to keep on doing what I am doing,” she said.

The fashion and beauty conference consisted of four panels and a “Social butterfly”, Brand Experience. Each panel featured a discussion with fashion and beauty tastemakers, stylists, designers, bloggers, editors, tech mavens and more. The fourth panel of the day included successful entrepreneur and keynote speaker, Tyra Banks. She educated #SimplyStylist attendees on her story of success and what she’s learned along the way. Tyra gave the attendees priceless advice on the things she wished she knew when she was just getting started in the industry. Tyra shared her journey of becoming a model, her success with America’s Next Top Model (which is coming back for a 23rd cycle), and shared information about her recently launched beauty line, Tyra Beauty, which was displayed during the Brand Experience.

The Brand Experience took over the park at the Grove for some shopping, relaxation, pampering, and delicious desserts! The title ‘Brand Experience’ was truly fitting, because, ticketholders had the chance to get their hair, nails and makeup done by The Glam App, shop Kendra Scott’s merchandise, have a consultation with eSalon, take pictures of their #OOTD with FotoFWD, drink tasty cocktails from H2Rose, transform their photos with Perfect365, eat Rumbundctious Cakes and munch on snacks from Skinny Pop, just to name a few.

A valuable lesson learned from the conference was, if you want to get in the industry and do what you love, it is all about connections and networking. Simply Stylist was created to help individuals make that connection and help someone set their career in motion. With their networking events, mixers and workshops, you are bound to build lasting relationships with other companies, brands and even potential employers. Getting your foot in the door can happen when you attend a Simply Stylist conference. The next conference will take place in Chicago July 2016 and in New York October 2016.
